Being an Apple Authorised Service Provider iStore is the best place to get your Apple Watch repaired. iStore uses Apple provided diagnostic tools and procedures to ensure we treat your device as Apple intended.

Getting your Apple Watch Fixed

Bring your Apple Watch in to iStore where it will be booked in to our service department to be assessed by one of our service technicians. Once a fault has been discovered we will contact you with a quote.

If your device is covered under warranty we will mail-in your device to Apple where it will be approved for replacement. Once your replacement watch has arrived at our location we will contact you to advise that your Apple Watch is ready for collection.

Due to Apple's repair policy your device will need to remain in our service department for the duration of the repair.

Diagnostic fees and pricing

If your device is less than a year old, and the issue covered by Apple's Limited Warranty the service will be free of charge. If your unit was purchased in New Zealand and is less than 24 months old it may be covered under Apple's variable warranty.

For all Apple Watch repairs – in or out of warranty – there is a $39 assessment fee that is payable if a repair or replacement is not undertaken by iStore. If you accept a quote for repair or your repair is covered by warranty, iStore will not charge the assessment fee.

How long will it take?

We aim for a service turn around time of 3 - 5 working days for Apple Watch hardware repairs, however this may vary depending on the current work load of the service department.1

Battery Service

If your Apple Watch is suffering from battery life issues iStore can diagnose the issue. If we confirm a failed or consumed battery we can order a replacement Apple Watch from Apple for a discounted service fee.

Before you bring in your device

Perform a backup

Before bringing in your Apple Watch to be serviced please ensure you have done all appropriate backups of your data. iStore will have to erase your device to help diagnose and confirm an issue.

To backup Apple Watch, ensure your iPhone is backing up to iCloud and perform a backup with your Apple Watch powered on and connected to your iPhone. When your iPhone backs up to iCloud it will also backup your Apple Watch and health data.

Remove Find my Apple Watch

Before we can service Apple Watch, Apple require us to turn off the security feature known as 'Find my Apple Watch'. This can be turned off via the companion iPhone’s iCloud settings.

Before we book the device in for service our staff will ask you remove 'Find my Apple Watch' with your Apple ID password.

watchOS Repair

Unfortunately software issues are not covered by Apple's warranty. Because of the nature of watchOS, to solve any software issues we will need to reset your device's data and settings.

If your Apple Watch software issue remains after we reset your device, we will need to replace your Apple Watch as the Apple Watch is unable to have watchOS reinstalled.

Watch Accessories

If your Apple Watch accessory – such as a USB to Magnetic Charge Cable, Power Adapter or Watch Strap – is not working as expected you can get it serviced through iStore. In order for iStore to facilitate a repair or replacement of an Apple Watch accessory we need to run a quick diagnostic on the Apple Watch you use the accessory with. This takes a few minutes while we book in your faulty item.2

Just like with Apple Watch repairs your accessory will need to remain in our service department for the duration of the repair however you may take your Apple Watch away with you.

Insurance Assessments

If your device has suffered impact damage from an unfortunate mishap – or if your watch has been lost or stolen – iStore can provide an insurance assessment and send the report directly to your insurance company. Once approved we can service or replace your device and have you up and running again as soon as possible.

An insurance assessment requires a valid claim number and contact email address. We also require an insurance assessment fee to be paid up front, in most cases this will be reimbursed by your insurance company

Watch Band Service

If your Watch Band is showing wear or is faulty unrelated to normal wear and tear it may be eligible for service under warranty.

If the watch band didn't ship with your watch you will need to provide iStore with a proof of purchase in order for us to replace your band. Please be aware that in some cases you may have to contact AppleCare before iStore can facilitate a service of your Apple Watch Band.

Send in your Apple Watch

If you cannot physically get to our store, you can mail in your Apple Watch to be assessed and repaired. Please print and complete both the Mail-In Service Form and the Terms of Service pages that can be downloaded via the link below. Please include them when sending your device to us.

Please make sure you have backed up your device before sending it in and followed any service instructions provided with the Mail-in documentation. If you are unsure of anything please contact iStore.

Repair Extension Programs
Bellow is a list of currently active repair or exchange service programs available for the Apple Watch.

Screen Replacement Program for Aluminium Models of Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3

Apple has determined that, under very rare circumstances, a crack may form along the rounded edge of the screen in aluminium models of an Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3. The crack may begin on one side and then may continue around the screen If you have experienced this issue, please contact iStore with your serial number to see if your device can be serviced free of charge.


Coverage Period

This repair program covers eligible Apple Watch models for up to three years from purchase date.

Apple Watch Series 2 Repair Extension Program for No Power Issues

Apple has determined that under certain conditions, some Apple Watch Series 2 (42mm) devices may not power on or they may experience an expanded battery. Apple will service eligible devices free of charge.


Coverage Period

This repair program covers eligible Apple Watch models for up to three years from purchase date.
