Beats Service at iStore

Being an Apple Authorised Service Provider iStore is the best place to get your Beats serviced. iStore uses Apple and Beats provided diagnostic tools and procedures to ensure we treat your Beats as Apple and Beats intended.

How do I get my Beats fixed?

Bring your supported Beats product in to iStore where it will be booked in to our service department to be assessed by one of our service technicians. If your device is covered under warranty we will repair or replace your device and contact you when your device is ready for collection. Due to Apple's repair policy your Beats product will need to remain in our service department for the duration of the repair.

Due to the service strategy for Beats, no component repairs will take place on your device and your device may be sent to Apple's repair centre where it will be assessed, replaced and returned to iStore. Once your replaced device is shipped back to iStore, we will contact you so it can be collected straight from our Takapuna store.

How much will it cost?

If your Beats product is less than a year old and the issue covered by Apple's Limited Warranty the service will be free of charge. If your Beats product was purchased in New Zealand and is less than 24 months old it may be covered under Apple's variable warranty.

For all Beats repairs there is a $39 assessment fee that is payable if a repair or replacement is not facilitated (regardless of warranty status). If you accept a diagnostic and quote for repair iStore will wipe the assessment fee.

If your device has suffered physical damage or failed outside of warranty you can still get it serviced at iStore. Follow the link below to see our full list of Beats repair pricing.

Are your Beats more than 12 months old?

Due to large amount of counterfeit Beats products being sold around the world Apple requires iStore to obtain a valid Proof of Purchase for all Beats that are sitting outside of Apple's Limited Warranty. If you wish to get your Beats serviced under Apple's variable warranty or wish to obtain an out of warranty service you will need to provide iStore with a copy of your original sales receipt.

The Beats you wish to get serviced must have been purchased from an Authorised Reseller and show no signs of unauthorised modifications or repairs. If you have lost your receipt or it has faded due to age you will need to contact Apple directly to see if you can set up a repair directly with them.

How long will it take?

We aim for a service turn around time of 5-7 working days for Beats repairs, however this may vary depending on the current work load of the service department.1

Please check our homepage for the current estimated turn around times, alternatively you may wish to contact the iStore team directly.

Battery Service

If your Beats product is suffering from battery life issues iStore can diagnose the issue. If we confirm a failed or consumed battery we can get your device replaced for the discounted exchange replacement fee.

Servicing Beats Accessories

If your Beats accessory – such as a USB to lightning cable, audio cable or Power Adapter – is not working as expected you can get it serviced through iStore. In order for iStore to facilitate a repair or replacement of a Beats accessory we may need to run a quick diagnostic on the Beats product you use the accessory with. This takes a few minutes while we book in your faulty item. Just like with Beats repairs your accessory will need to remain in our service department for the duration of the repair however you may take your Beats away with you.

Before you bring in your device

Before bringing in your Beats or Beats accessory in to be serviced please ensure that you have obtained the serial number for the product. The Beats serial number is found on the product itself, on your retail packaging or possibly on your sales receipt. If your product is over 12 months old you will also need to provide iStore with a valid proof of purchase.

Beats Pill XL Recall Program

Apple has determined that in rare cases the battery in the Beats Pill XL Speaker may overheat and pose a fire safety risk. This product has been sold worldwide since January 2014 by Beats, Apple, and other retailers but was never sold through iStore. Apple have voluntarily decided to recall this product however this process is handled via Apple directly and iStore cannot facilitate this program at this time. Please follow the link below for more information.

Beware of counterfeit parts

Some non-genuine and third party power adapters and batteries may not be designed properly and could result in safety issues. To ensure you receive a genuine Apple battery during a battery replacement, we recommend visiting iStore or another Authorised Service Provider when servicing your iPhone. If you need a replacement adapter or cable to charge your Apple device, we recommend getting an Apple made accessory. Also non-genuine displays quite often have compromised visual quality and fail to work correctly. Screen repairs through iStore are performed by trusted experts who use genuine Apple parts.

Having non-genuine parts in your device may cause the device to become ineligible for service. If your device has had a third party repair iStore may still be able to replace the entire unit for an out-of-warranty service fee.2

Had an accident?

If your device has suffered liquid damage or impact damage from an unfortunate mishap – or if your device has been lost or stolen – iStore can provide an insurance assessment and send the report directly to your insurance company. Once approved we can repair or replace your device and have you up and running again as soon as possible. An insurance assessment requires a valid claim number and contact email address. We also require an insurance assessment fee to be paid up front, in most cases this will be reimbursed by your insurance company.
